Donations & Bequests
Donations are the key to securing the future of May Gibbs’ Nutcote. People support May Gibbs’ Nutcote for many reasons; because they loved May’s stories when they were a child and wish to help to celebrate her life and works, because they would like to help preserve May’s legacy for future generations, or because they wish to contribute to the cultural life of the Australian nation. Whatever the reason, we rely on the generosity of people like you.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

If you have ever enjoyed May Gibbs’ memorable children’s stories or visited her delightful House and Gardens on the shores of Sydney Harbour, please consider making a gift to the Nutcote Trust in your Will.
Bequests made to Nutcote Trust Pty Ltd are preserved in our Endowment Fund and the income earned is then used to benefit activities and special projects, helping us to fulfill our Vision of Celebrating the life and works of May Gibbs. In this way, your gift continues to give, ensuring that future generations benefit from your generosity, keeping May’s magic alive for many years to come.
A simple form of bequest is set out below. Please note that this not offered as legal advice, which should be obtained from your own lawyer.
“I give and bequeath the sum of $………………..to Nutcote Trust Pty Ltd. The receipt of an authorised officer of the Company for the time being will be a full discharge to my Trustees for the legacy and my Trustees shall not be obliged to see to its application.”
A legacy can be added to an existing Will, in appropriate circumstances, by means of a codicil but, again, legal advice should be obtained from your lawyer to ensure your intentions are effectively realised. It is our understanding that testamentary gifts are not deductible for income tax purposes.
